The spectacular Callanish Stones stand on the western side of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides off the far north western mainland of Scotland.
The stones at "Calanais" ( Scottish Gaelic) are believed to date from around 3000 BC and are considered to be one of the spectacular megalithic monuments in the whole of Scotland.
